High Power LED Flood Lights
High power LED flood lights are high-intensity, broad-beamed lights that are usually employed in outdoor public spaces, such as pedestrian areas, roadways, plazas, or for architectural illumination for large historic buildings or large statues (such as the Statue of Liberty). Important attractions such as the Eiffel Tower or large suspension bridges around the world are illuminated by this type of fixtures. Large sport venues (stadiums, sport halls, football fields) and concert areas or live performance stages are also illuminated by flood lights. Many top sport leagues require high power flood lights to allow games to be played outside daylight hours.
LED flood lights are available in a huge variety of shapes, sizes and power ranges. Smaller units, designed for pedestrian areas, walkways or small stages have a wattage of 30W to 60W. They can be mounted in a variety of ways, such as hanging on wires, mounted on poles or recessed in the pavement or in lawn areas. Smaller fixture (in the 30W to 60W range) feature a housing made of aluminum, have a color temperature between 2700 to 3900K for warm and 6000 to 7000K for cold light. The units have a single 80 chips LED unit and have a color rendering index of Ra>78. Their luminous efficiency is listed at 90 to 100 lm/W and the power factor is >0.98. They have a working voltage of 85 to 265 VAC and a frequency of 50 to 60 Hz, while the power consumption sits at 30 to 60W, depending on the model.
Other LED flood light fixtures can have a wattage of up to 320W to 400W and are designed to be used in sport arenas or large concert areas. They have a luminous flux of 27,000 to 30,500Lm and feature an encapsulated light source consisting of up to 4×80 chips (LED units). The fixtures feature super white tempered glass that offers top grade and uniform illumination with no shade. They have a combined power consumption of 320W to 400W and work on a voltage of AC100-240V and an intensity of 50-60Hz. The power factor is >0.92, a color temperature of 2800 to 7500K and a color render index Ra>75. The luminous efficiency of the LED units is 85-95lm/W and the beam angle is listed at 120 degrees horizontally and 60 degrees vertically. Flood lights have a long life span, typically exceeding 50,000 working hours and require little maintenance. They feature a high quality housing made of extruded aluminum and prime rubber gaskets, making them resistant to the natural elements as well as ample temperature fluctuations, operating perfectly between -40 degrees to +50 degrees C. The fixtures offer perfect performance at humidity levels of 10% to 90% RH. For important matches and concerts, they are commonly used together with other similar units which are mounted on tall posts, featuring gantries for maintenance and inspection. These large units can accommodate up to two light engineers during important events.
